CHAOS by KH House of Khaddar

Chaos is the name of the Summer'23 collection by Kamal Haasan's sustainable label KH House of Khaddar.

Inspired by art, Kamal Hasaan's KH House of Khaddar combines the finest summertime emotions in a collection titled Chaos.

The collection combines Creative Director Amritha Ram's affection for Van Gogh and Khadi in a dialogue between art and fashion through a variety of silhouettes, including dresses, jackets, wide-legged trousers, and co-ord ensembles.

'Chaos' by KHHK is a composition of vibrant colours, bold brushwork, and curved structures. The collection is a deliberate plunge into unconventional techniques and processes, articulated in simple khadi with varying thread counts between 120 and 200. By romantically merging colours, we experimented with different painting techniques to accomplish the collection's distinctive appearance.

This summer collection utilises a palette of mauve, green, red, and yellow with pastel accents. The dresses are made of khadi that is brazenly undyed and combines traditional slender silhouettes with contemporary complete designs. Each silhouette was chosen to showcase the artwork on its surface. The collection includes dresses, jackets, and co-ords while introducing gender-fluid trousers with wide legs. Chaos is also KHHK's first foray into metallic accents on apparel.

"When I saw the Van Gogh exhibit in Paris, I knew exactly what I wanted for this collection. However, bringing this vision to life was a thrilling challenge because art is its own master, whether on canvas or fabric. It took considerable time to create the textures in collaboration with a fine artist and to reinterpret the artwork as apparel. It was a thrilling challenge that resulted in garments that, like their inspiration, are the focal point of every frame"
