How did a fashion graduate student suddenly become famous out of the thin air? This is probably the question you’ve in mind and I’ve the answer for your question. So let’s dive in, shall we? In a fine summer of 1999, Sabyasachi graduated from his college and won the first prize for the best collection in his college as well. Soon enough this maverick fashion designer created his own label and started his company and collection which is now valued at around Rs 2,400 crore with only 3 people to help him. Slowly and steadily his fashion designing company started flourishing but it wasn’t until the year 2006 when he came up with his all time famous “spring summer collection 07” at New York Fashion Week which eventually led to earning him the critical praise and acclaim and his label soon started selling internationally. And the rest is history!

Sabyasachi actually brought a new phase in traditional fashion which was revolutionary. He introduced dark shades, dull gold embroidery, mismatched patchworks and traditional Indian jewellery. In 2002 when he made his appearance in Indian fashion week the media and the whole world loved his collection.
