Scott Studenberg co-founded this brand with his best friend John Targon by the end of 2013. Baja East is an LA based designer brand which focuses on creating 'loose luxury'. According to the founders of the company 'loose luxury' was nothing serious but still the person feels confident wearing the piece due to its fabric and material. The brand has gained recognition worldwide due to their unconventional designs, where they have amalgamated chic street style look with west coast laid-back cool. Their style is of effortlessness with luxurious aesthetics that can not be pigeon holed to one dimension. The founders of the brand designed ambisexual apparel which are chic enough to walk in a street yet have a look of luxury. The designers have successfully(and quite impressively) blurred the lines of street style and red-carpet look with their unisex designed apparel.

The brand is currently under the guidance of Scott Studenberg, as the other co-founder started his own label, Fall Risk, which has also became a hit among the celebrities worldwide. Scott Studenberg, studied Advertising & Marketing Communication for Bachelor's degree at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He also worked at Lanvin, a French multinational high fashion house, as a Sales Director for five years, before launching his own label. This experience has helped him understand the market and shape Baja East accordingly. Baja East was honored by the Fashion Los Angeles Emerging Designer Award by The Daily Front Row in 2016. 

The brand is well-known for its unorthodox way to introduce their new collection. Each show in which their new collection is disclosed, is like a party because the founder believes to make fashion entertaining for the audience whilst giving out the theme of the collection. The designs of the clothes are made to feel confident and not sexy. The loose clothing and less body hugging pieces are not sexy but boosts confidence. The luxurious cashmeres, silk dresses and satin used as fabric enhances the luxe quality and the designs are more of a easy-look. Currently, Scott Studenberg, the creative head, is focusing more on creating dresses for the female customers whilst maintaining the ambisexual apparel. Another appealing feature of the brand is that it is environment friendly and creates vegan leather to design all the luxurious products. He has also released the brand’s first home goods collection which consists of candles, cashmere throws, pyjamas, duvets and a few more products with similar lush quality as is of all other merchandise.

The brand went downhill during 2018-19, when it was forced to shut down for almost three seasons. The company was highly in debt due to business shakeup and a traumatic breakup of Studenberg from his fiancée. The young man was admittedly depressed due to the flood of problems at his way. After some time period, he solely re-launched the company and gradually returned the debt money. The creator has launched new collections(spring and fall) for 2020 with inspiration being fields and horses Scott encountered in his visit to Joshua Tree, a national park. The collections have been a hit in the market, and the creative head has announced that the 2021 Spring collection would be even more admirable.
