Regent is an exciting new start up from Boston, USA and it is aiming to revolutionise the use of flying ferries making them a common mode of transport between coastal cities.

The co-founders of Regent - CEO Billy Thalheimer and CTO Michael Klinker state that the Electric Sea Gliders that Regent is developing can zoom out of a harbor using a hydrofoil. It can then take off at a low speed converting the water as its runway and subsequently also fly at almost 180 miles per hour above the waves to get travellers from one point to another smoothly and in quick time.

Both the co-founders of Regent are aerospace engineers & FAA-licensed private pilots having worked for Boeing company and Aurora Flight Sciences before. Their electric sea gliders surely promise to radically change the way people travel between urban centers and coastal areas making it fast, safe, affordable, dependable and also with mimimum adverse impact on the enironment.

As per the developers, Regent's seagliders will work efficiently with existing harbor infrastructure making use of the charging and other relevant facilities for electric machines.

On an immediate basis Regent aims to create travel routes between major cities like Boston and New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It is also looking at targetting smaller travel distances like New York City to the Hamptons or routes connecting the islands of Hawaii.
