The Ferrari Portofino Tuned by Novitec is a Confluence of Beauty and Breathtaking Speed

NOVITEC, the world's premier refinement expert for the sports vehicles from Maranello, now now provides a unique customization option for the Ferrari Portofino.

NOVITEC engine tuning is offered in three levels for up to 61.8 kW / 84 hp greater power: In the most powerful model, the 2+2-seater does away with zero to 100 km/h in only 3.2 seconds and achieves a high speed of 325 km/h.

Tailor-made naked-carbon components give the open-top sports vehicle a significant dose of racing aesthetics. In addition, there are custom-tailored hi-tech forged rims, which owing to their staggered mix of 21-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels on the rear axle accentuate the wedge form of the two-door.

NOVITEC personalises interior design in any chosen hue and with many beautiful designs. The 3.9-liter eight-cylinder with two turbochargers gives a good platform for strong tuning.

The NOVITEC engine experts devised three distinct performance kits for the Portofino, which unlock the reserves hidden in this engine to differing extents without sacrificing the durability.

An intricate set of experiments were done to generate customised mapping for the two plug-andplay NOVITEC N-TRONIC modules, which are suited to the electronic engine controls of the vehicle. They offer injection and ignition with performance-optimized programming and raise the boost pressure as well. In this form, the engine puts out 491 kW / 668 horsepower and delivers a peak torque of 851 Nm at 4,750 rpm.

To improve the power delivery further, the refining expert from Southern Germany also instals a NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system, which is available in different configurations with or without sound management by means of integrated actively regulated exhaust flaps.

Depending on the model and the material chosen, stainless steel or the extremely light and heatresistant INCONEL, which is also the material of choice in Formula 1 racing, the exhaust system not only enhances the power output even further, but also may save up to 11 kilos in weight to boot.

The performance may be boosted further with 100-cell metal sports catalysts. In the uppermost level, the NOVITEC-tuned twin-turbo V8 puts out 503 kW / 684 horsepower at a low 7,400 rpm. The peak torque of 871 Nm, up 91 Nm over the standard model, is already on tap at 4,750 rpm.

This, of course, also helps the performance on the road.

The modified front-engine sports vehicle achieves a speed of 100 km/h in only 3.2 seconds. The highest speed climbs to 325 km/h. On the road, the NOVITEC performance boost is not only visible in the considerably enhanced acceleration and higher maximum speed, but also in an even more quick throttle response and even more forceful in-gear acceleration.

Of course, given the extraordinarily high speeds the customised Portofino is capable of achieving in only a few seconds, the aerodynamics also play a significant part.

The NOVITEC designers designed a tailor-made variety of aerodynamic-enhancement components built of bare carbon. As a consequence, the appearance of the two-door are tailored towards motor racing. What is more: to achieve ideal aerodynamic efficiency, the form of the new components was tuned in the wind tunnel.

The NOVITEC front spoiler in tandem with air deflector inserts for each of the two side air intakes in the front bumper provides the front-engine sports vehicle an even more dynamic character. Their innovative form also decreases front-axle lift, which increases the handling stability at high speeds. Tailor-made inserts for the two air intakes in the hood equally enhance the Ferrari's appearance, as do the gill-shaped casings for the side air vents in the front fenders.

NOVITEC naked-carbon covers for the two side mirrors give more sporty features.

The NOVITEC rocker panels give the vehicle's flanks even more oomph: Additionally, the airflow between the front and rear tyre arches is calmed by the aerodynamic enhancing components. Naked carbon is used to build the rear fascia attachment, which has a racing-inspired aspect to it. Enhancing the rear look and reducing rear-axle lift are also benefits of the NOVITEC rear spoiler lip.

The NOVITEC forged rims, created in conjunction with American wheel maker Vossen and offered in two distinct styles for the Portofino, give stunning appearance and improved driving characteristics. More options are provided by the availability of a number of hues and finishes, including brushed and polished. A staggered set of 21 and 22-inch rims on the front and back axles further emphasises the Ferrari's wedge-shaped profile.

The front axle is a 9Jx21, while the rear axle is a 12Jx22, depending on the model. Pirelli, the company's technology partner, provides high-performance tyres designed to this vehicle. In the front, the tyres are 255/30 ZR 21 in size. Optimal traction is provided at the back with tyres measuring 315/25 ZR 22 in size. These two wheel designs each include five delicate pairs of spokes that continue all the way to the outside flange, giving the illusion of even bigger wheels.

To further enhance airflow through the wheel arches, the NF8 variant is equipped with slanted spoke pairs. Each corner requires a custom-made NOVITEC NF8 Directional wheel since the function only functions properly when rotated in the correct direction.

By lowering the ride height by around 35 millimetres, NOVITEC makes the Italian hardtop convertible even more nimble and gives it a more exciting look. A new function created by suspension experts adds to the Portofino's everyday use. In order to gain 40 millimetres of more headroom while seated in the cockpit, the driver may use hydraulic front-lifting technology.

Speed tables and parking garage ramps can be more easily navigated with this. The front end lowers itself back to its previous position either by using the button or automatically when the vehicle reaches 80 km/h.

When it comes to the inside of a Ferrari, NOVITEC can fulfil any and all of the driver's specific desires. NOVITEC's exclusive leather and Alcantara interior appointments dazzle with their craftsmanship and the diversity of upholstery colours and patterns offered.
