A Pair of Art Deco Bajubands Sold For a Stunning 1.3 Crore Rupees At AstaGuru's Online Auction
- 28th Oct 2022
At the recently finished online auction held by AstaGuru, buyers eagerly purchased a number of gorgeous jewellery creations and remarkable watches. The auction titled 'Jewelry, Silver, and Timepieces' offered 125 goods for online bidding on Oct 20-21, 2022.
The expertly chosen jewellery collection included an exquisite array of handcrafted items, many of which were done in Art Deco-inspired styles. Art Deco's influence on jewellery can still be observed today, with vintage and antique Art Deco jewellery being highly sought after and current designers drawing inspiration from the trend.
Lot No.110 is an excellent pair of Art Deco Bazubands set with old cut diamonds and good grade calibre cut real Burmese rubies in an Art Deco chevron pattern. It is uncommon to locate genuine Bazubands set in the Art deco style, since they were originally set in Indian Jadau. This lot was purchased for a staggering sum of INR 1,33,35,023.
Jay Sagar, Jewellery Expert at AstaGuru Sale House, commented on the outcomes of the auction, stating,
"This auction included a vast array of jewellery, and the reaction from collectors indicates that they are definitely constantly seeking to purchase something famous. Moreover, with pieces including all the desired jewels, the selection provided collectors with a good chance to acquire them according to their own tastes and preferences. We are pleased with the auction results and look forward to exhibiting more rare and prized treasures."
